After all of the girls' antics, they're home!! Snow day! There was much celebration this morning. And, can I just say thank goodness for the internet? How lovely that I didn't have to stand in front of the television, waiting for their school to scroll through the hundreds of school closings, or listen to the radio, for that matter. We knew within just a few seconds. Progress is good. (Most of the time. . .!)

Madison came home today dancing around and announcing that tomorrow will probably be a snow day. We *love* snow days at our house. We checked the weather on-line, and sure enough, there is 7-11 inches of snow in the forecast from after midnight to early morning. Both Madison and Lillian were careful to wear their pajamas inside out and backwards to bed tonight - a superstition to ensure that school will be canceled. ("You didn't know that, mom??") they also slept with spoons under their pillows. I asked them why that would be good luck, and they looked at me like I knew nothing, then went on to explain that a spoon under their pillows will guarantee 10 inches of snow overnight. My friend joked that she'd put 5 spoons under her bed and they cheered! 50 inches of snow! Hmmm. . . just the other day, Madison came home from school telling the same jokes that I had heard in elementary. I felt connected - I felt 'cool'. Now, however - I just feel old! I gues...

Hello, friends and family! Well, I've been trying to figure out an easy way to send the New Year "card" that I made to share with all of you, and I've decided that this will probably be the best way to do it. Enjoy watching snipits of the year 2007. We had a very busy and exciting year - Madison was baptized in January. We've had a lot of ballet, swimming, ice skating, even tennis and baseball! Hilary trained and raced in what was supposed to be a triathlon this summer - but because of water conditions was turned into a duathlon. Our basement was finished this year after our own blood sweat and tears was poured into it - and then two weeks later the entire thing was damaged in a sewage flood - now it's finished again . . . more professionally, too! Madison is in Grade 3, Lillian in Grade one, and Ella is in a homeschooling preschool co-op group which she loves!
