The Rumor Mill. . .

We spent a lovely afternoon on Temple Square in Salt Lake City today. We met Megan & Isaac and their family. I love being on the Temple grounds. This is where Milo proposed to me almost 13 years ago. . . We went into the Visitor's Center and watched a little movie progression about the family and looked at all of the amazing artwork of Jesus.

When we got back to our van, Milo and I both had several messages on our cell phones. There is a rumor running fast about us getting our Green Cards. . . I am so sad to announce that it is just that - a rumor. We are unsure how it was started, but here is what we *DO* know: We received an email last week that our Labor Certification will be approved. (YAY! Thanks for all of your letters - I'm sure that helped!) So - when that is all finalized, then we can go ahead with the remaining steps to reinstate Milo's work status. As for now, however, we must continue our trip to Canada. We are enjoying seeing family and friends, and will be in Alberta after tomorrow. Our plan is to homeschool the girls while we await the process, try to participate in a lot of fun things, and just enjoy our time in Canada. . .

We promise to announce immediately as soon as we have any OFFICIAL news.

I am so glad I can know what is going on with you through your blog. Wow Hilary! What a story this will be. Sorry about that recipe. Email me if you still want it. Love ya! By the way, I am going to Indigo Girls THIS MONTH in Indiana!!! You know I will be thinking of you the whole time.

I saw my friend, Tia's blog tonight and just had to say *something*. I'd been biting my proverbial tongue the last couple of days. There really HAS been more violence lately, it seems. It's like there was a tidal wave that began a while ago, and it's just gaining momentum and leaving a mess in it's wake. This article, while it had me giggling with the comparison of the two mayors with the first & last paragraphs, leaves me quite cold. I do hope that someday we will see an amazing turn around. Bye Bye Miss American Pie. . .

Here's the update I've been dreading to write. . . we got official word today that we need to be out of the country in less than 3 weeks. Our heads are reeling what that means in terms of when we can come back, what to do with our house, cars, etc, in the meantime. We've been doing our best trying to plan for the future in spite of all of this. Vivien's ready for Kindergarten here, Madison's found an *amazing* middle school. We are planning. . . "If you build it, they will come." So, if we 'build' our future, will we see it happen that way? We sure hope so. I cannot express enough gratitude for all of the letters that were written on our behalf. The Revealing!

  The Problem:   Tight financial situation. . . too many places our money needs to go! The Challenge:   To not spend any money on school clothes for the girls. . . Use fabric that I already have, clothes I already have, etc. The Result:  A *LOT* of fun!  The girls loved being able to be a part of the designing and making process.  I had fun knowing that I've hardly spent anything, yet the girls have a few fun new outfits for school!   Total Spent:  Less than $15.  This includes the new t-shirts with a couple of the skirts I made, a cute piece of fabric I have yet to use, and some elastic!  Everything else came from our own house! Vivien's First Outfit:   Her skirt is made from an old pair of blue cords that ALL four girls wore.  Vivs wore them last winter, and they were going in the goodwill box until I saw an idea online to make old jeans into skirts. . . this is what I came up with.  The material I bought when I was pregnant with Lillian!!  It was planned to be a nighty. . .
