Good things

I love our new carpet!! It is *so* super soft and cushy to walk on. . . it's a lovely 'housewarming' gift welcoming us back to our 'old' home .

106 days

After 106 fun filled, emotional, tiring, exploring, confusing, exciting, surreal, (I could go on and on) days, we have arrived back to our house in Eastpointe, MI. We pulled in tonight at about 6:30, to a waiting crew of friends to welcome us back - thank you, Thurmans and Rhodenizers! We brought one trailer-load of boxes back to the house tonight from the storage unit (aka the Dell's attic!), and are now crashing until we begin again tomorrow. . . Just thought I'd let y'all know we made it back. . .

It's Official!!

We're on our way home! We successfully made it over the border yesterday - the visa processing went relatively smoothly. We're not as squished in the van as we've (temporarily) adopted a trailer! We're very grateful to Grammy and Papa Moe and we think about them with every leg stretch and butt wiggle!!! We're in North Dakota now, and working our way across the country. Because of our shorter day yesterday (giving enough time for border issues, etc), we'll have to take 4 days of intense driving to get home instead of three maniacal days. . . we're looking forward to once again having our own home. See you soon, Michigan!

He was gone all day - about 10 hours. The stress was palpable. During that time, I thought I'd lost Madison and Lillian - who were riding around the neighborhood on their bikes, searching. . . Everything came into perspective when I switched yelling Roscoe's name and started screaming for the girls. . . of course, they were OK, but reality set in that we might not get our sweet dog back. We finally got a call from a Vet clinic much farther away than I can imagine him traveling. . . I'm sad to say, that our *sweet* dog never came back. Oh, Roscoe came back. . . but he's a changed dog! He must have found himself a sweet girl dog - because his motivations have completely changed. Since we got him back, he's marking his territory inside the house, he's barking (he us
