Babysitter Extraordinaire!

The little girls BEG me to go out lately. They want 'Bubba' to babysit them. And guess what? She wants to do it! Madison is a fabulous babysitter. She plays with the girls - board games, puzzles, wii, etc. She feeds them, bathes them if I ask her to. Lately, they've been doing nails and makeup, if I'm gone long enough. A few days ago, I took the middles to swimming, and this is what I came home to:

And then today I ran a few errands. Of course, the littles wanted to stay with Bubba instead of coming with me (I even tried to entice them!!) And I was surprised with a fashion show when I got home! The skirts are a little short for my liking - they're ones we usually wear with leggings, but they're beautiful and having such fun being 'models'. They have their hair straightened, along with their make up.

The first thing I thought when I saw Vivs was GEM! Remember that cartoon. Too cute! Love having a built-in bbsistter too. So very, very convenient. :)

I think Madison would be just the best babysitter:) She has always been so creative and fun:) I miss you guys so much- and those girlies are growing up wayyy too fast...I need to call you later to talk too- here is a hint on the topic...I am buying love and logic TODAY- can you hear desperation in my voice? I want a family like yours! HELP!!

It's been a long time (7 years to be exact!) since I've contributed to this blog.  It had been such a wonderful way to save all of our important family stories in one place. Sadly, we had an unfortunate incident back in 2013 where someone made horrifying comments on a dozen or more posts and it freaked me out. I decided to shut it down completely. And with that, I lost contact with so many of our cherished friends that we'd kept in touch with this medium. It also made it harder to distribute our fun family Christmas Cards! I'm taking some college courses this fall, for the first time in nearly 25 years! I'm finally finishing my degree and the plan is to go to grad school - time will tell. The Revealing!

  The Problem:   Tight financial situation. . . too many places our money needs to go! The Challenge:   To not spend any money on school clothes for the girls. . . Use fabric that I already have, clothes I already have, etc. The Result:  A *LOT* of fun!  The girls loved being able to be a part of the designing and making process.  I had fun knowing that I've hardly spent anything, yet the girls have a few fun new outfits for school!   Total Spent:  Less than $15.  This includes the new t-shirts with a couple of the skirts I made, a cute piece of fabric I have yet to use, and some elastic!  Everything else came from our own house! Vivien's First Outfit:   Her skirt is made from an old pair of blue cords that ALL four girls wore.  Vivs wore them last winter, and they were going in the goodwill box until I saw an idea online to make old jeans into skirts. . . this is what I came up with.  The material I bought when I was pregnant with Lillian!!  It was planned to be a nighty. . .
